We finally decided to go for steak since it was a holiday eve.
Made reservations for 2, at 7pm in San Fransisco Steakhouse in Tropicana Mall.

Service was quick, well, maybe it was because there were not too many patrons then. Food came in less than 15 minutes, which kinda worried me, because that would mean not much attention was given to the preparation to our food.
Well, I was right.
First off, I ordered a T-bone Steak, which actually requires a good knife to cut around the tendons and ligaments around that area, unfortunately, the one which was provided earlier on the table couldn't serve its purpose. It took a lot of effort for me to actually cut one mini-sized piece and by the time I was done with the first piece, I didn't have the patience to cut through the second piece.

I asked for a new knife, and let her do the cutting this time. We switched mains.

She ordered lamb racks, which was good enough for a hungry man. It was easily cut, within seconds.

Maybe it was my mistake to have ordered a medium-rare T-bone. I should have ordered well-done or something, so that it could be easily handled. Well, there's always another time.

The night ended, with a movie "Phua Chu Kang, the movie". Meh. It wasn't that impressive. I have to confess that I fell asleep halfway. I am not blaming the movie, maybe it was because I had insufficient sleep the night before. Nevertheless, there's nothing much worth remembering in that movie. Should have spent RM10 on The Stool Pigeon instead, or maybe Repoman..or even Sammy's Adventure. Well.

I have a soft spot for tears, especially when it's midnight, when I'm in a half-asleep state.

I didn't have much sleep last night. Excited about tomorrow's public holiday though. It's the country's 53rd Independence Day..or well, I am just happy that tomorrow's a break day for me. We've planned to have my car parked in 1U early in the morning. We've some serious shopping to do!
(Just hope we don't get into any serious debt issues after tomorrow!)

Can't decide what to have for dinner tonight. We always have the same issues.

Which? The crab or the cow?

Maybe the HTC Wildfire isn't a very good device in snapping pictures of food.

Jiamin is leaving in September, so we organized a little gathering before she leaves. We were down to the very last minute, deciding whether to purchase the voucher on http://www.mydeal.com.my/, because dates were being switched back and forth, and dinner was decided at the very last minute. When we finally decided, it was down to the last 21 minutes before the deal ends.

And because it turned out that most of us had to work late, we only managed to arrive at 8pm. Well, the location of La Gomera wasn't actually easy to find either which contributed to the arrival time as well. We thought we should give this place a try, since its voucher was RM29.95 for Spanish buffet, 50% off from its original price.

We were very disappointed.

Refer to the picture of oysters above.
ONE was enough to have me send back the entire plate to the kitchen. It tasted like they have kept the oysters for a very long period of time before serving them to us. You can't taste the freshness at all. The rest of the buffet? The only thing I enjoyed was their vegetable soup and clams. The rest of the food served wasn't what we expected to be spanish-fied. Well, I can't judge, considering I haven't been to Spain.

Food aside, the company was great. Ask if I were to visit again? Well, perhaps not in the near future.

Growing Old

We seldom take any pictures, and it's during trips that we find opportunities to have our picture captured.

Maybe I haven't been practising my 'I love you's' lately, but you should know how much I do.
Thanks for the coffee you made each morning.

Cupcakes cost RM4.50 each. Tiramisu + Blueberry Cheese. Don't judge by its size, there's a reason for its price.
Top it up with a cup of English rigged milk, enough for a reason for you to quit having diet thoughts.

I think it's difficult to find time to write something decent, especially when I'm away from home for about 10 hours a day. And by the time I do come home, there's obligation to fulfill and to spend time with the love ones. Finally, comes the weekend, and she's back home for a day, I have the rest of the room to myself. Hooray!

Work's picking up, if any of you are interested to know. Spend most of my time facing the computer screen, but have no time browsing blogs lately, because I'm simply to pre-occupied with tender documents. A lot of mistakes were made, and seriously I don't blame myself. Heck, it's only now that I can make mistakes, right?

I'll still be dropping by, doing short updates through my phone. I've gotta use the Smartplan until it dries up, because RM68 a month is definitely a hefty price to pay!

Read the news today.

PAS Youth: National celebrations causing baby dumping

PETALING JAYA: PAS is blaming Valentine’s Day and New Year celebrations as among the main causes of baby dumping in the country.

PAS Youth chief Nasrudin Hassan said the occasions were celebrated in an extreme manner and encouraged liberal socialising and free sex, which resulted in the act of dumping babies.

“Baby dumping is rampant especially during the months of July to September – the months are dubbed the ‘baby dumping season’,” he said yesterday.

Nasrudin also said the party would hold a roundtable discussion with non-governmental organisations and political parties on Aug 22 to discuss ways in which all parties could contribute to solving the problem.

He said there had been 15 cases of baby dumping between July and yesterday.

“It is an indication that the ‘mating season’ occurred during the New Year celebrations. We expect more cases between now and September,” he said, adding that the high number of cases of couples caught for khalwat (close proximity) was recorded during carnivals including the Merdeka Day celebrations.

He said the celebrations, which originated from the West, did not “sit well with our country’s traditions.”

“These celebrations put youths in situations involving alcohol and indecent behaviour,” said Nasrudin, adding that the Government should control such celebrations and entertainment outlets.

“These babies are born out of wedlock from irresponsible actions through forbidden relationships. If the babies were born through marriage, they would not be thrown away,” he said.

Nasrudin was responding to a news portal report yesterday quoting PAS Youth deputy chief Azman Shapawi Rani that such celebrations in the country were the main causes of baby dumping.

He urged the Government to look into preventive measures and not only dwell on punishment against the youths.

“They must review the education system to teach youths how to apply their knowledge of subjects like morality in everyday life, rather than merely feeding them information all day in schools,” he said.

Just because you have a sad love life, doesn't mean others can't celebrate Valentines.

Doing this on my HTC.

I just downloaded Blogger-driod for my phone and this is of course an attempt to try out the application. For weeks I have been cracking my head trying to decide which phone is the best at the moment...,but the more I read about the difference between Apple products and Android, the more I realized that there's really no the 'best' phone around. Just the phone that meets your needs and I picked this Wildfire even though there were negative reviews about its processing speed. Well for the price I paid, I think it's worth it.

It's not because I am clueless with the topic of discussions, it's because I've learned (the hard way!) that every other opinions matter as well.

It's the Ramadhan month, and the Muslims would be fasting. So, no eating/drinking in the office, to be more considerate, I guess.
What I love most about the Ramadhan month would be the Bazaars! Back in those days in UTP, we would make an effort to visit the bazaar near Bandar Seri Iskandar, as early as 5.30pm, and purchase food. Sometimes, we got too carried away that we just sip on the 'Ais Kelapa' while everyone was watching. Well, it was not that we did that on purpose, we were just too carried away with the food available. Too bad now I can't go to any bazaars in the weekdays because I only get off work at 5.30pm, plus I don't know where are the bazaars located in PJ/KL.

*Speaking of which, I wonder if this company would let us off early during the Ramadhan month. Hello, the Muslims have to prepare their food for 'buka' right?

and this reminds me, that when I was in UTP, we were so crazy that we woke up for 'sahur'. During the Ramadhan month, the cafes were opened during the late evening, up to the following morning. So, we went for 'sahur' at 3am! Yesh-a, we were crazily stupid that time!

What I also love eating would be these:

Saturday was a "full" day. HuiChing and her sister came all the way to my place, to have breakfast before heading to KLCC for its Pc Fair. Instead of driving, the 3 of us decided that it would be wise to take the LRT but, we were wrong. I don't know why, but perhaps I haven't been taking the public transportation for quite some time, I realized that the journey from Kelana Jaya to KLCC can be painful, with the restrained ventilation and it seem that most people were heading to the same destination as we were. When we arrived in KLCC, the first thing we saw was the amount of people walking towards the entrance. We, on the other hand, quickly queued up to get the return tickets, to avoid the congestion later when we head home.

It has been some time since I went to KLCC. I remember when I was doing my internship in KL, we would often drop by occasionally for dinner since most of us were working around the KLCC area. Ever since I started working, I didn't even have the time to go near the KL area, since weekend would always be jam-packed, and none of us would want to spend our weekends sardined with people. And not forgetting, most UTPians work for Petronas which means their HQ is in the KLCC towers and no one, NO ONE would want to go back to their offices even on weekends!

PcFair was as usual, crowded with tech savvy, geeky people; all wanting to get the best deals. I saw a lot of things which I would kill myself for not having to save enough to get them now, and regretted for not being able to apply for credit card yet. I went through the whole cycle TWICE, because you know how indecisive girls are, right? We bumped into a couple of people, friends and acquaintances. I only managed to purchase 'small-small items'. At the end of the day, we couldn't feel our legs, with the amount of walking that was done. For dinner, the 3 of us had Chilli's for dinner, which we had to wait for 45 minutes before being noticed by the (I think Store Manager) to seat us at our table. During the waiting period, we witnessed some customers who were downright rude to the host, who thought that the waiting list was a reservation list, and those who just smiled and said, "It's okay, I have money, I can eat anywhere I want" to the host, which left everyone who heard those words, flabbergasted.

I initially pitied the waiter who got lashing on the tongue by one of the 'datin's'.
(Disclaimer: I am not sure if the woman was a Datin, but the way she carried herself and talked, gave such an aura that we felt that we should label her as 'Datin' to ease the story-telling. This is by no means of disrespecting any Datins in this country or any other country for that matter.)

I would always remember what the 'Datin' said to the manager.
"You said that I would be seated in 30 minutes, so now it's already passed 30 minutes. And why am I still standing here??" This was all said, in such poise and with all hand movements. Well, at least it provided me entertainment while waiting for my table.

Then after my lamb shoulder came, I couldn't finished the whole plate, because of the meat texture and the fat contents, which I didn't experience throughout the times I visited Chilli's. So when the bill came, I politely told the waiter that the lamb shoulder was not good this time and I couldn't finish it. Well, with me saying that, I didn't expect any form of return, in terms of discounts or another plate of lamb shoulder. All I wanted to do was to give feedback on my food so that the person in charge would take note. The waiter took my plate, and said he would show the manager. And next, before I know it, the manager came back to me, with my plate of unfinished scraps, asked me what my problem was, in a (I believe!) high tone. I knew that he just had a hard time with the 'Datin', so I quickly say that the meat isn't that good, and there's not much meat. He then told me, "So, do you want me to change a new plate for you?", and I SWEAR, HE SOUNDED LIKE HE WAS THREATENING ME!.. I felt intimidated then, as if it was my fault that I made a comment about my dish. So I told him, I didn't mean to complain, and in fact, it wasn't even a complain. It was just a comment. Well, a negative comment, but nevertheless, I wasn't going to make a big deal out of it. And you know what, the bugger then intimidated me (again!), told me that if I want a new dish, he can easily change a new one for me.

Eh, hello. You tak boleh faham English ke??

So I told him that it's okay and just bring the bill.
Hello, Chilli's not cheap one okay. I paid, and thus I expect good food, good service. I know it's a weekend and the crowd is bad. But that doesn't mean you can be all defensive and 'intimidate' me. Hmmph.

and today, I came across this
article. Okay, I'm going to boycott Steven's Corner.

Went to Kepong this morning, with mum and relatives, for breakfast. And I did what I do best on Sunday.

Polish my culinary skills, though I have a girlfriend who does the cooking for me. :)

Check out the sunny side-up! and I love how my bacon is cooked to crisp.

and to balance all the meat and protein, I would always prefer the garden salad, topped with the Japanese Sesame Salad Oil. I know, not much cooking this week, but then, we can't always have too complex food all the time. Hehhe.

No, it's not the 100th day today, but I love how this picture turned out after some tweaking done.

I was asked for dinner last night, with Wei Ai, MayLee and Sookmin, at iKea's. So, after work, I quickly drove to that area, to avoid the jam. Surprisingly, I left my place around 6 and arrived half an hour later. Oklah, perhaps the jam hadn't started yet, but I wasn't going to stay longer to take my chances.

Anyway, they begun to call me 'boss', perhaps because of the way I dress, or the way I act. Lol!So, Maylee had a portion of 10's of Ikea's famous meatballs, Wei Ai had the Chicken Leg bla bla bla...

As for me, I had the Chicken Leg bla bla bla..., 5's of Ikea's famous meatballs,
and a Daim cake.

and to wash all that down, I had a glass of Pepsi. Oh wait, make that two.

All of their eyes were widely opened; mouths couldn't close, as I took my dinner. Okay, I know my appetite has grown, and am trying to cut down. But who goes to Ikea without having their meatballs and Daim cake?? And the Chicken Leg is a proper meal, with meat and veges as the sides.

Ok, maybe I should quit going to iKea's.

Anyway, it was a nice night, with Rilzal and Leesha, both Maylee's colleagues.

I am proudly attached to her.

I just don't get it why people have to keep messing up with our lives.
Which part of "She's attached" don't people understand?

And the fact that the person remains anonymous, kinda bugs me. Because for all we know, this person could be a psycho.

You want to be her sky, her water, her sea, fine. Wait for your turn.

Went for my first vacation, after the first month's pay, to PD and Malacca.
Travelling 3 different states in less than 28 hours, all car-driven.

It's gonna be a pain to write down everything, so pictures will do, for now.

What's better than some eye-food early in the morning, well, on a Monday?

In Malacca, we went for Nyonya food around Jonker Street, because that's the only place we knew. And because we only left from KL about noon, it was already evening when we arrived in Malacca, after checking into PD.
Check out the Nyonya popiah. My friend ordered this, with EXTRA pork lard, and not so spicy. First time I had one of these, and it was good! Well, should I say, GOOD!!

It was some time since I had Cincaluk, so I had to order this. Well, it was just meh. For RM5, I could have gotten a whole bottle for myself. At least now I know what NOT to order when I revisit.

There's really no need for introduction for the dishes above. I forgot their names anyway. Well, I wanted to try the lemak nanas but because there were too many dishes already, I had to forgo that. All in all, for RM75, I think it was a little over-priced, and it didn't tickle my fancy. Well, however it was worth trying, since we were already in Malacca.
