Finally, after a long hiatus from writing, I'm back and this entry would be with some pictures taken at my recent trip to Chiang Mai, Thailand. I have heard a lot about this place, comments such as its location near the hills, its cold weather etc. When I finally went there, yes, the location was exactly as described, but the temperature is the same as back home. No such thing as it being cool because when we were there, the sun was as mighty as ever, even though the locals claimed that their country is in a rainy season. True enough, it did pour but the weather was pretty much on our side most of the time. Only rained when we were indoors, or after we did our outdoors activity and waiting to get into our transports.

During our 4 days trip, I have visited countless "wats" or temples, so much so that I don't remember their names. All looks almost the same to me. Blame my short memory span.
However, this place (pic below) looks almost significant and distinctive for my memory, even as it was designed by their local architect/artist. His concept was "A journey from Hell to Heaven" (translated into English; I'm pretty sure the phrase is godlike in Thai)

Wat Rong Khun
If you go any nearer, you can see every corner of this place is carefully carved and shaped. I can only imagine the amount of time needed for its completion.  Mind you, when we were there, the place was not even a quarter completed. At this rate, it could only mean another 1-2 years for its actual completion. But 'fraid not, it's worth the wait.

(Pic above) This is supposed to be (my interpretion) of many people suffering in hell.
When you are walking past this, you are not supposed to turn around and look behind, let alone walk back to the original spot because this deem to be a bad symbol. Means you are walking back to hell. It should be just up straight ahead until you see this:-

Heaven. (It looks a bit too crowded now, eh)

I had a hard time trying to sush the crowd to move away from my lens range, but apparently these people speak all kinds of language ranging from French, Japanese, Mandarin, that I gave up and just quickly snapped this shot. They ruined my picture! Luckily for the blue sky which gave this picture a slight touch of classic look.

This is about it. Wat Rong Khun - one of the Wats that I could think of, for now.
